PRODUCTION OF SUPERCONDUCTOR

PURPOSE:To improve a transition temp. of a superconducting molded body, and critical current, etc. and to stabilize the quality thereof by applying magnetic field to powdery raw material held at a transition temp. of superconductivity, and separating nonsuperconductive impurities utilizing the Meissner effect. CONSTITUTION:The temp. of powder of a material having superconductivity is held at below a transition temp. of superconductivity by cooling the powder. Nonsuperconductive impurities are separated due to the Meissner effect (a material in superconductive state exhibits perfect diamagnetism against magnetic field having a specified intensity) by applying magnetic field to the cooled powder. Then, superconducting powder freed of impurities is molded.
