PURPOSE:To prevent short circuit and electrolyte leakage by removing the part, where is corresponding to positive gas ports, of a SiC matrix, and replacing the removed part with the extended thin part of a positive side shim. CONSTITUTION:Gas separating plates 1 have either positive gas channel 2 and negative reaction gas channel 3 in the facing surface, and a positive electrode P and a negative electrode N are mounted so as to cover the channels 2, 3. The part, where is corresponding to positive gas ports, of a SiC matrix previously attached on the positive electrode P is removed. Shims 4, 5 are sticked on the sealing surfaces of the separating plates 1 so as to fringe the electrodes P and N respectively. The extended thin part 4' of the shim 4 on tie positive electrode side of these shims 4, 5 is sticked on the positive electrode P where the SiC matrix is removed. The SiC matrix is not exposed at the edge of a sealing part, and leakage of electrolyte caused when it is supplemented is prevented. In addition, sealability can be improved. |
