PURPOSE:To enable short-circuit current to be sufficiently limited and obtain an economical distribution apparatus, by composing a short-circuit point to be released, after contribution current flowing from a motor connected to the same power source as that of a short-circuiting circuit is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:When a short-circuit accident is generated at a point F, on a distribution system with a plurality of loads (motors 15) connected to the same power source 1, then the short-circuit accident is detected first by a short- circuit accident detector 11, and the input to a short-circuit current limiting apparatus 10 is provided. By this apparatus 10, contribution current (motor contribution)17 flowing into the short-circuit point F from the motors 15 connected to a circuit except the short-circuit point is interrupted. After that, the breaker 5 of a short-circuiting circuit is worked and is contrived to be released. As a result, the short-circuit resistance of the breaker 5, a bus line 2, and the like can be reduced, and the distribution system can be economically designed.
