PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body stable against heat and light and superior in carrier generating ability and durability by using a specified azo pigment as the effective component of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer to be formed on a conductive supporting body contains at least one of the azo pigments represented by formu la I in which A is H, optionally substituted alkyl, aryl group, a heterocyclic residue, carboxylic acid or its ester or cyano; X is H, cyano, halogen, lower alkyl, or phenyl; (m) is an integer of 1 or 2; (n) is an integer of 0 or 1; and Cp is a coupler residue, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensi tive body to be superior in electrophotographic characteristics, such as physical film properties, charge retentivity, sensitivity, and resistance to residual poten tial, small in deterioration of them due to fatigue even at the time of repeated uses, and moreover, a stability against heat and light. |
