A method for the manufacture of insulating window units with glass panes in a spaced relationship. A gas mixture inside the spaces is composed of a selection of gases with the characteristic of having a high absorption capacity for electromagnetic radiation in the wave-length field of 2-20 mu m and without a noticeable influence on visible light. The choice is made in such a way that the gases complement one another with regard to the extension of their absorption bands in order to ensure the coverage by these of the wave-length field to the greatest possible extent where the radiation intensity and thus the transport of energy are at their greatest. |
