PURPOSE:To enable smooth starting even at the time of the stoppage or restarting of the drawing operation of a sheet material by providing a control circuit for adding the lapse of time and temperature change with gains to the output of a current memory device as a correction. CONSTITUTION:Temperature change stored in a temperature change memory device 12 is inputted into a function generator 14 to calculate the correction value for temperature. Also, a stopping time measured by a lapse of time measuring device 13 is inputted into a function generator 18, to calculate the correction value for time. And, the outputs of the function generators 14 and 18 are added to obtain the correction value for change in tensile force during stoppage. Further, by setting a gain to the correction value by a gain setting device 15 for requiring adjustment by the quality of a sheet material, the correction value for a current reference is calculated by a gain circuit 16. And, the current reference correction output is added to a current value stored by a current memory device 17 as a correction, which is applied as the current reference of an output side roller to carry out starting, thereby, enabling the start of the operation of the output side roller under a condition right before stopping, without reversing.
