<p>PURPOSE:To improve an operating property and enable the manual feeding of a number of sheets by providing a pressure contact releasing means for releasing or keeping the pressure contact between a feeding means and sheets of copying paper being interlocked with a manual-feed port opening/closing means. CONSTITUTION:As a manual-feed port cover 71 is opened up, sheets of copying paper 90 on a push-up plate 32 are retracted from a paper feed roller 24 releasing the pressure against the paper feed roller 24. When sheets of manual-feed paper 91 are inserted, the detecting levers 80, 62 of a manual-feed paper detecting switch 73 and a copying paper detecting switch 28 are pushed up due to the passage of the sheets of manual-feed paper 91, detecting the sheets of manual-feed paper 91. Then, as the manual-feed port cover 71 is restored, a motor is driven and a push-up lever 22 further pushes up the end parts of the sheets of manual-feed paper 91 via the sheets of copying paper 90 bringing the end parts into pressure contact with the paper feed roller 24 and, further, pushing up the paper feed roller 24. Here, a push-up detecting switch 65 is turned on and the motor is stopped to bring about a paper feedable condition.</p> |
