PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the water permeability of a membrane by passing a condensate through the hollow yarn-type nonadsorptive hydrophilic membrane obtained by grafting a side chain having a specified content of a neutral hydroxyl group on a porous membrane of a specified material to prevent the formation of solid iron to be deposited on the filtrate side of the membrane. CONSTITUTION:A porous membrane is formed by a mixing extraction method, etc., with the use of polyolefin, the copolymer of an olefin and a halogenated olefin, polyvinylidene fluoride, or polysulfone, an electron beam is then projected on the membrane, vinyl acetate is grafted, and hydrolysis is carried out to obtain a hollow yarn-type nonadsorptive hydrophilic membrane contg. 0.1-5 miliequivalents of the side chain contg. a neutral hydroxyl group per gram of the membrane, and having 0.01-0.5mu mean pore diameter, 20-80% porosity, and 10mu-5mm thickness. The condensate generated in a boiling water reactor is purified by using this membrane. |
