PURPOSE:To always enable speech in a proper level independently of the classification of this speech by identified the speech classification of a long-distance extension terminal and controlling the gain of a speech path of the long-distance extension in accordance with the identified classification. CONSTITUTION:For example, if a call comes to a long-distance extension terminal LSB, a central processing unit CC sends a call signal to the long-distance extension terminal LSB through an additional device ADP and a speech classification identifying part 3 identifies the transmission source of the incoming call, namely, the classification of the incoming call in accordance with the form of the call signal. The gain of the speech path of the long-distance extension is controlled by a gain control part 1 in accordance with the identified speech classification. Thus, speech in a proper level in the long-distance extension terminal is always possible independently of the distance of the speech path to the destination.
