PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an input pen by providing a holding member to function as an input switch on the outer circumferential surface of approximately the tip part of a pen. CONSTITUTION:Since an electrode 2 to constitute a part of an input switch is composed as the holding member of a pen shaft 1 from a material having a high friction coefficient and elasticity, the touch and the operability at the information input/output time from a nib can be improved. When this function is used as an input switch, a finger proceeds as shown by a code 7' up to the position shown by the broken line, the finger of an operator is touched with both of electrodes 2 and 3 and the electrodes 2 and 3 are shortcircuited. Thus, without needing an intensive operating force, the input can be rapidly executed.
