Method for casting and cooling products of the ferromanganese type, in which the liquid product originating from the smelting furnace is cast on a truck whose platform 9 supports a pouring basin 10 consisting of the same product, but solid, fine or grained, after which the product cast on the truck is cooled in a chamber 1 at the lower part of which is introduced air which is pre-heated by circulating in the flues 9a equipping the lower part of the platform and then superheated by circulating above the pouring basin 10 before leaving the chamber 1 via the top. <IMAGE>
