Filtering or adsorbent material consisting of ground porcelain fragments which have a particle size that can range from 0.1 to 6 mm; filtering device containing such a filter material; and process for filtering a liquid with the aid of such a material. Application especially to the filtration of natural water with the aim of obtaining drinking water.
