PURPOSE:To shorten the queuing time required for still picture formation by transmitting a still picture signal to not only a television device for still picture but also a television device for moving picture and displaying a still picture on the television device for moving picture till formation of the still picture. CONSTITUTION:The still picture signal is transmitted to a television 10 for moving picture as a moving picture simultaneously with transmission of the same signal to a television 11 for still picture, and a memory is provided to freeze the moving picture on the reception side simultaneously with the start of still picture transmission, and the still picture is displayed as the frozen picture of the moving picture on the television 10 for moving picture with the resolution of moving picture till the still picture is formed on the television 11 for still picture. When the still picture is displayed on the television 11 for still picture, the television 10 for moving picture is so controlled that this picture is moved. Thus, the queuing time required for still picture formation is shortened.
