PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a frame synchronizing circuit which is required exclusively for a data link and to increase the data transmission efficiency on the data link by utilizing a multiframe synchronizing pattern for signaling as a frame synchronizing pattern for the data link. CONSTITUTION:Bit numbers 4-8 of time slots O of odd-numbered frames of frame constitution of CCITT G704 recommendation are used for the data link used to transmit and receive information between a master and a slave station, and the multiframe synchronizing pattern for the signaling of the time slot 16 of a frame O is utilized as the frame synchronizing pattern for the frame synchronization of the data link. Consequently, the need for the frame synchronizing pattern dedicated to the date link is eliminated and the need for a dedicated frame synchronizing pattern is also eliminated.
