PURPOSE:To manufacture a self-shrinkable tube, which can perform expansion in the direction of the diameter and perform easily coating to an object to be coated by rolling in spirally an elastic tube around an external circumferential surface of a cylindrical hollow body, in a few number of processes and efficiently, by a method wherein the elastic tube having rubbery elasticity is put over the expandable and shrinkable cylindrical hollow body and the cylindrical hollow body is expanded. CONSTITUTION:An elastic tube 4 and a hollow jig 1 whose inner and outer circumferential surfaces are covered with a thin tube 3 are fitted over respectively the external circumference of a cylindrical hollow body 27 and that of a supporting shaft 24. Pressure medium gas through a gas feed device 26 is injected within the cylindrical hollow body 27 through a ventilation hole 21 of the supporting shaft 24. With this construction, the diameter of the elastic tube 4 on the external circumference of the cylindrical hollow body 27 is expanded by expanding the cylindrical hollow body 27 in the direction of the dia,meter. The elastic tube 4 is rolled in spirally in the direction of an arrow so that an inner circumferential surface and outer circumferential surface become the outside and inside respectively, in the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical hollow body 27 which is in an expanded state. Then a self-shrinkable tube is obtained by supporting the elastic tube 4 by rotating or sliding the spiral elastic tube 4 on the outer circumference of the cylindrical hollow body 27 and the same is supported by the cylindrical hollow jig 1. |
