PURPOSE:To substantially uniformize the temperature distribution in the longitudinal direction of a thermal head and enhance recording quality on a thermal recording paper, by providing a fan for generating a uniform air flow in recessed parts of heat-radiating fins, and an wind tunnel for converging the air flow from the fan to the heat-radiating fins. CONSTITUTION:A line-type thermal head 1 is provided with heat-radiating fins 6 disposed substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the head 1. A recording paper 2 is fed by a paper-feeding mechanism in the state of being clamped between the head 1 and a platen 2. The fins 6 are surrounded by a U-shaped wind tunnel 8, and a line flow type fan 7 is provided on the lower side (in the figure) of the wind tunnel 8. The fan 7 is rotated in the direction of an arrow A by a motor 10, and generates an air flow in the direction of an arrow B, namely, upward in the figure. |
