PURPOSE:To achieve a higher durability performance almost preventing variation in the degree of vulcanization and a corrugation phenomenon by grooving the outer surface of a plain tire vulcanized having no tread pattern at least a part thereof with a knife to complete a tread pattern thereon. CONSTITUTION:A plain tire 10 with no tread pattern on the outer surface 10a is formed by vulcanization. As a matter of course, as there is neither of a groove or land section, it can be vulcanized almost evenly over the entire thickness, which causes little corrugation phenomenon on the breaker 11. The outer surface of the plain tire 10 thus vulcanized is grooved with a knife to form a tread pattern with a groove section 12 and a land section 13. It is alright that a die is used for zones except for those vital in the durability performance of a tire (for example, a tread shoulder section holding a breaker edge) to form a tread pattern by vulcanization forming. |
