Device for piercing composite materials and particularly panels incorporating reinforcing fibres according to the main patent. The piercing tool 15 is surrounded by a barrel 8, the barrel 8 moving with respect to the tool 15 so that the fibres are cut by the front edge of the barrel 8, this relative displacement being regulated by a hydraulic brake 12.
