PURPOSE:To improve an operability by converting a direct current signal in proportion to the operating quantity of an operating knob into a frequency signal, counting a converted frequency signal and giving a setting signal to a setting object. CONSTITUTION:When a variable resistor 6 is connected to a positive power source 20 and a negative power source 21 and an operating knob is turned to a positive voltage increasing side INC and a negative voltage increasing side DEC, the oscillator of the resistor 6 is operated, and a voltage signal (a) in proportion to the positive and negative operating quantities is outputted to a normal rotation limitter circuit 22 and an inverting limitter circuit 23. An output signal (b) or (c) of the circuit 22 or 23 is converted to a frequency signal (d) or (e) by V/F converters 25 and 26. The signal (d) or (e) is counted by an up/down counter 27 and an output code (f) is increased and decreased by the speed in proportion to the frequency. The code (f) is outputted as a digital output (j) as it is and outputted to a setting object as an analog output (i). Thus, a large setting adjusting quantity can be given to the setting object and the operability can be improved.
