PURPOSE:To provide a merchandise, capable of 'finishing' by consumers according to taste and having strong preference, by washing raw green tea leaves, steaming the green tea leaves and converting medium-fired green tea leaves obtained in the above-mentioned steaming or in a process thereafter into a refrigerated or frozen substance. CONSTITUTION:After washing and removing sticking materials, raw green tea leaves are steamed for a given time to provide medium-fired green tea leaves. The resultant leaves are then divided and packed in an airtight bag body, such as vinyl bag, in a constant amount. In the process, air, especially oxygen in the bag is removed with nitrogen gas to hermetically seal the bag. The obtained bag in the hermetically sealed state is subsequently frozen to afford a frozen substance of the medium-fired green tea leaves.
