METHOD FOR RECORDING AND COMPRESSING HISTORICAL INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To record only necessary historical information in a limited memory by recording and number of times of invalid cycles without recoding data at the invalid time of a pipe line unnecessary for maintenance or the like. CONSTITUTION:Effective signals V1-V4 in respective cycles of a pipe line are stored in registers 1-4. Respective outputs from the registors 1-4 are inputted to a counter 14 through an NOR circuit 16 and the counted value of the counter is stored in a CRT with the delay of one clock. Since the output of an OR circuit 17 is a reset signal for the counter 14, the output resets the counter 14 at the input of an effective signal of the pipe line. Therefore, the number of cycles at the invalid time of the pipe line is recorded. The effective signals of respective registers 1-4 are stored in V1-V4 of a writing register 9 and written in a memory 10 in accordance with the contents of an address register 11.
