The fabric take-off mechanism on a flatbed knitter has a reciprocating sheet bar moving longitudinally below the needle bed. The length matches the needle bed length and there is a blunted upper edge for at least one take-off band to pass round to be tensed between the upper edge of the sheet bar and a drive roller further below the needle beds. The sheet bar is flexed against the rear side of the needle beds so that the upper edge carrying the take-off band pinches the fabric against the needle bed to prevent any reverse movement by the material. The upper edge of the sheet bar acts as a mounting for a longitudinal take-off roller, matching the width of the needle beds, which projects beyond the edge and carries the take-off band passing round it, so that the belt tension acts as a clamp on the fabric against the rear side of the needle beds.
|
