HYBRID PROTEIN C AND METHOD FOR ITS PREPARATION

A hybrid protein of human protein C whose Gla domain is replaced by an amino acid sequence containing Gla domain of human vitamin K dependent proteins which participate in blood coagulation or by its equivalent is disclosed. Examples of vitamin K dependent proteins are human prothrombin and Factor VII, Factor IX, and Factor X. The hybrid protein is produced by culturing host cells transfected with a plasmid vector containing DNA coding it. DNA corresponding to Gla domain to replace can be easily synthesized and ligated with DNA coding protein C downstream of the Gla domain.
