PURPOSE:To obtain a monochromatic cathode-ray tube having afterglow property and usable especially for monitor TV, by using a fluorescent screen containing a calcium silicate orange fluorescent material doped with Pb, Mn and Ac. CONSTITUTION:The objective cathode-ray tube has a fluorescent screen containing an orange fluorescent material expressed by the compositional formula [A is Mg, Sr, Ba or Al; 0<=a<=0.001 (preferably 0<=a<=0.0001); 0.01<=b<=0.15 (preferably 0.002<=b<=0.08); 0<=c<=0.1; 1.0<=n<=1.3 (preferably 1.0<=n<=1.20)].
