PURPOSE:To quickly and continuously remember a complete pattern even from an incomplete reference pattern by converting a correlation matrix pattern obtained from the electric reference pattern to an optical pattern and generating an optical remembrance pattern and converting this pattern to an electric remembrance pattern. CONSTITUTION:Reference data of nXn is read into a CPU 21 through an input/ output port, and the operated correlation matrix pattern is outputted to an LED 23. This pattern is converted to an optical pattern, and a pattern of n<2>Xn<2> is stored in space optical modulating tube (T) 26 and 27 through a multiplexing image forming system 24 and a lens 25. The pattern is read through a mirror 28 by a monochromatic light to perform a prescribed operation, and the correlation matrix is stored in the T 27. In case of remembrance, remembrance data is subjected to order conversion and is inputted to the T 26 through an LED 22, and operations are performed on the basis of the correlation matrix stored in the T 27, and an obtained remembrance pattern is converted to an electric remembrance pattern. Thus, the processing is quickly performed and the output is continuously outputted.
