PURPOSE:To design secure correction of peripheral distortion by arranging two sets of peripheral distortion correction means opposite to each other on a horizontal axis on the outside surface of a frontal expanding portion of a coil bobbin with the peripheral distortion correction means consisting of a magnet and a plate-like magnetic piece of an approximate E shape. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of peripheral distortion correction means 7 consisting of a magnet 7A and an approximately E-shaped plate-like magnetic piece 7B are arranged to oppose each other on a horizontal axis on the outside surface of a frontal expanding portion 5A of a coil bobbin 5. Constituting the peripheral distortion correction means 7 with the magnet 7A and the approximate E-shaped plate-like magnetic piece 7B as a combination, of the magnetic field generated with the magnet 7A, that excluding that for correcting the peripheral distortion is shunted with the plate-like magnetic piece 7B to reduce the share for an electron beam and to smooth the drooping peripheral distortion. This makes it possible to securely correct the peripheral distortion.
