摘要 In an independent suspension system for a steerable wheel (1) on a commercial vehicle, two pairs of transverse links (6, 7 and 8, 9 respectively) lying at a certain, differing angle to one another are each connected pivotably in one plane (12 and 13 respectively) to a steering-swivel carrier (10) at one end and to the vehicle skeleton (11) at the other end. Connected to the steering-swivel carrier (10) via a swivel kingpin (36) is a steering swivel (stub) (5) which supports the wheel and to which, in turn, a steering linkage (43, 44, 45) is pivoted. Also connected to the steering-swivel carrier (10), at the top, is a variable spring member (39) supported, at the other end, on the vehicle skeleton, and also connected to the steering-swivel carrier, if required to the side, is a shock absorber (47) likewise pivoted at the other end to the vehicle skeleton. Each transverse link (6, 7, 8, 9) is pivoted individually on the steering-swivel carrier (10) and the vehicle skeleton (11) by its own joint (14-21). The points of intersection >>U<< and >>O<< of the axes (30-33) of the transverse links lie on a common straight line (line 34) which intersects with the swivelling axis (line 35) of the steering swivel at a point >>S<< in or close to the plane (48) of contact between the vehicle and the ground. As a result, there are only relatively small tilting moments between the steering-swivel carrier (10) and transverse links (6, 7, 8, 9) and very precise tracking and a high degree of comfort during operation. <IMAGE>
