PURPOSE:To obtain the titled industrially important compound in high acyclic formation ration in high quality, by reacting ammonia, etc., with an alkanolamine in the presence of a tantalum-containing substance, a solid catalyst having high activity and high heat resistance and slightly soluble in a reaction solution. CONSTITUTION:Ammonia or/and an alkyleneamine is reacted with an alkanolamine [e.g. monoethanolamine; preferably N-(2-aminoethyl)ethanolamine] in the presence of a tantalum-containing substance at 200-400 deg.C, preferably 240-350 deg.C to give the aimed compound. The catalyst used is a substance wherein tantalum is chemically bonded to another element and is preferably tantalum pentoxide or tantalate. The amount of the catalyst used is 0.05-50wt.% based on sum of the raw materials in the case of suspension bed. |
