PURPOSE:To enable independent detection of ultrasonic beams orthogonal to each other, by providing an ultrasonic device with two receiving transducers. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency pulse signal is applied to transducers Ti1 and Ti2 to emit an ultrasonic beam, which is converged with an acoustic lens 3 and reaches an object 2 to be inspected through a liquid L by Snell's law to be reflected on the surface of the object 2 being inspected. The ultrasonic beams of the transducers Ti1 and Ti2 contain components orthogonal to each other: when the object 2 being inspected has elastic anisotropy owing to a flaw, a clear phase difference appears in the ultrasonic beam reflected. Thus, the reflected ultrasonic wave is converted into electrical signals with two receiving transducers T<01> and T02 and can be detected as independent output. |
