PURPOSE:To save the labor for operation and to obtain a high-reliability, quantitative detection result for each drooping wire by lighting drooping wires and picking up their images selectively, and detecting their parts automatically. CONSTITUTION:The linear body 6 while extended normally is neither lighted with illumination light 12 nor picked up by an image pickup means 13. When, however, the body 6 droops from an imaginary plane S, the part is lighted selectively with the illumination light 12, so digital image data 19 which is inputted through the means 13 shows the part as a light part. For the purpose, it is detected by a linear body inspecting means 16 to inspect the body 6 automatically. Thus, the illumination light 12 is projected horizontally from below the body 6 to detect its drooping part. |
