CENTRIFUGAL-FORCE RPM REGULATOR FOR FUEL INJECTION PUMPS

A centrifugal speed regulator for an IC engine operates through a linkage to operate a lever (5) that adjusts the flow rate of a fuel injection system. The centrifugal governor has a pair of weights (6) that move radially to adjust a pair of rods (7) to move a coupling (2). Axial movement of the coupling causes pivoting motion of a lever (21) via an intermediate link (22) that connects with the coupling using a pin (19) that passes through a hole in a pin (18) set at right angles. When the centrifugal forces cause displacement of the rods (7) the coupling moves against a spring biased plunger on a back plate. At the same time the compound linkage responds to adjust the position of flow regulating bar coupled to the fuel injection pump.
