Coins are stacked in a right circular cylindrical container (8) mfd. of transparent material with a funnel-shaped top opening (9) into which the coins are inserted. The container (8) carries an engraved scale (11) calibrated in units of currency corresp. to the momentary value of the stack of coins of predetermined dia. and thickness for which the cylinder is dimensioned. The value of the contents of the cylinder is ascertained from the graduation mark at the level of the uppermost coin. A number of such containers for coins of different sizes and values may be arranged in a convenient order on a board (10A), with a central container for coins of the lowest denomination. ADVANTAGE - Counting time is reduced by a simple, practical and inexpensive arrangement.
