PURPOSE:To widen the width of change gear ratio by so constituting that ring gears are fixed to an output shaft, and two carriers are integrally fixed, and further that each sun gear is enabled to connect to an input member via a clutch means, and also is enabled to be fixed via a brake means. CONSTITUTION:In the state in which carriers 11, 12 are fixed, when either one of sun gears 3, 4 is connected to an input member and the other one is fixed, the forward first or third speed having the largest change gear ratio can be obtained in accordance with the gear ratio of a planetary gear mechanism 1, 2 executing speed reduction. Further, when either of the carriers 11, 12 and sun gears 3, 4 is connected together to the input member, since the whole rotates integrally, the forward fifth speed in which the change gear ratio is 1 can be obtained. And when either one of the sun gears 3, 4 is fixed, and the other sun gear is connected to the input member, the overdrive stage in which the change gear ratio is less than 1 or the backward stage can be obtained, depending on the procedure from which side of the planetary gear mechanism the input is made.
