For the heat insulation of pipelines which, with the interposition of annular spacers consisting of insulating material, are enclosed by a tubular sheet-metal casing, the invention provides, in order to fill the annular spaces between pipeline and sheet-metal casing with insulating material, that the tubular sheet-metal casing is provided, in each case in the region between two annular spacers, with at least one bore and a loose-fillable insulating material in small pieces is blown through the bore until the respective annular space is completely filled. <IMAGE>
