The invention relates to a metal-halide copier lamp for reprographic applications. The known lamps have considerable disadvantages, in particular in the intermittent operation. During idle times they consume too much energy and therefore produce too much heat. Furthermore, the stability and service life of the metal halide tubes and of the mechanical systems of the apparatus are adversely affected as a result. The lamp according to the invention is a so called shutter lamp. It is characterised by a lamp housing with a housing cover arranged at the rear end, a parabolic reflector with a reflector base, a metal halide tube which is firmly mounted on the reflector base, a shutter hood, in the form of a half cylinder, which is held on its one longitudinal side by means of a shutter mount disc and can be rotated by means of a shutter motor about its longitudinal axis, which lies behind the plane of the reflector base, for which purpose passage slots are provided in the reflector base, a cooling air inlet, which is provided on the lamp housing and has a blower, cooling baffles in the region between the cooling air inlet and reflector base and cooling air holes or slots in the reflector base in the region of the shutter hood, and a device for voltage-dependant control of the rate of cooling air flow corresponding to the development of heat or for limiting the respective maximum and minimum temperature. By means of the mechanical ... as described above ... Original abstract incomplete. |
