<p>A sensing system for detecting the frequency and amplitude of motion of a patient's diaphragm (1) comprising a transducer (7) for detecting movement, transvenously formed as a J-electrode with a bend at (9) and two opposing portions (10) and (11), coupled to transducer (7), transvenously implantable in a patient's heart (2); and a sensing instrument coupled to lead (6) for correlating transducer (7) movement with the frequency and amplitude of diaphragm (1) motion. The present invention also provides a method for using the system.</p> |
