The information display comprises a housing and a top cover plate with an incorporated or overlying surface with a matrix of holes through which pins can project, arranged accordance with the required display character. The displacement of the pins into the projecting position is controlled by a setting mechanism within the housing, with raster elements for holding the pins in the raised postion. The setting device may be programme controlled.
