A water-collecting device for vehicles is proposed, the water- collecting strip (17) of which is moveable into a non-operational position not-protruding with respect to the outer contour of the vehicle. The component (5) which receives the water-collecting strip (17) is formed by a hollow section (11) produced from light metal using the extruding process, which hollow section is provided with a groove-shaped section (13) for the purpose of receiving mounting parts (15) of the water-collecting strip (17). The hollow section (11) is preferably used as a supply line for a fluid, by means of which the water-collecting strip (17) can be moved into its operative position and/or position of rest.
