Modern structures are being erected more and more often in a lightweight type of construction. Concrete is being replaced by latticed elements which are then clad (facades, glass areas, solar cells). The structural element described here can perform a number of functions at the same time, by basic elements being supplemented by additional elements. The structural element described here can be used as a float, as a modular assembly for large projects and as a heat exchanger, lightweight construction, high strength and practical function being combined in one.
