NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R<1> is methyl or trifluoromethyl; R<2> is H or methyl; X is H, halogen or methyl). EXAMPLE:1,3-Dimethyl-N-(1,1-dimethylindan-4-yl)pyrazole-4-carbothioamide. USE:A fungicide. It exhibits preventive, remedying and systemic fungicidal effect especially against plant blight caused by microorganisms belonging to basidiomycetes. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a sulfurization reaction reagent [e.g. phosphorus pentasulfide Lawesson's reagent 2,4-bisaryl-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide) or Davy's reagent [2,4-bis(alkylthio)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide].
