The two coaxial discs (13,16) are mounted under the glass (6) with an annulus (17) of the lower disc (16) visible around the rim of the upper disc (13). The annulus bears a reference mark (21) which indicates the hour, and the upper disc has on its face (18) a similar reference mark (22) indicating the minute, in cooperation with a conventional ring of figures around the edge of the dial (4). Decorative designs (17a,18a) on the respective discs constitute a coherent picture when the two reference marks are in line with each other, e.g at 12 o'clock. The discs are driven like hour and minute hands by a conventional movement (7). ADVANTAGE - Distinctive optical effects are achieved without parallax or other defects inherent in superposition of two discs.
