A crane jib comprises three parts, specifically an inner part (1), a centre part (2) and an outer part (3), of which the two latter are extendable in relation to the inner part and of which the outer part (3) carries an implement, for example a grab, at its free end. Arranged between the inner jib part (1) and the centre, extendable part (2) is a hydraulic cylinder unit (11, 13), the piston rod (13) of which is fastened to the inner end of the inner part (1) and the cylinder part (11) of which is fastened to the centre part (2). A guide member (9) is mounted on the outer end of the inner part (1), and a deflection member (10), for example a deflection pulley, is attached to the inner end of the cylinder part (11). One or more flexible lines (7) are fastened with their one end to the inner end of the inner part (1) and are run via the guide member (9) and the deflection member (10) to the outer end of the outer part (3), where the opposite end of the lines (7) is fastened. <IMAGE>
