This precast concrete member is suitable in particular for dam construction or irrigation installations and has a rectangular base plate and two outer walls extending essentially parallel to one another from the base plate on two opposite sides. In this arrangement, at least one intermediate wall running essentially parallel to the outer walls is provided between the outer walls, the precast member is open at the two other sides for arranging in a row with adjacent precast members, and water-passage openings are formed both in the outer walls and in the intermediate wall or intermediate walls. In order to create a structural part which permits irrigation of the land surfaces situated outside the impounding area or on both sides of the dam, provision is made for the openings in adjacent walls to be offset from one another in the vertical and/or lateral direction.
