PURPOSE:To obtain a curable composition suitable for forming clad of optical fiber, having low refractive index, excellent hardness, flexibility and flexing characteristics, comprising a specific polymerizable unsaturated bond-containing resin and a specific fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer containing a fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate [preferably 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-heptadecafluorodecyl (meth)acrylate] shown by the formula (R is H or methyl; X is H or F; n is 1-12) and a carboxyl group-containing vinyl monomer [e.g. (meth)acrylic acid] is blended with preferably 20-80wt.% polymerizable unsaturated bond-containing resin obtained by esterifying an epoxy group-containing vinyl monomer [e.g. glycidyl (meth)acrylate] or a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer [e.g. hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate] and preferably 80-20wt.% fluoroalkyl (meth)acrylate shown by the formula to give a curable composition. |
