PURPOSE:To improve the repetitive processing efficiency of a microinstruction by stopping selectively the advancing actions of the address signal of a control storage by the prescribed frequency in response to a prescribed bit of the microinstruction. CONSTITUTION:The working of a microprocessor is controlled by a series of microinstructions stored in a control storage CS. The microprocessor contains a counting register CTR which is automatically replaced every time a microinstruction is fetched, a comparator ALU which produces an output signal Cm when the coincidence is obtained between the counted value of the CTR and the repeating frequency which is designated by a specific bit of the microinstruction, and a program counter CSSCC whose replacement is selectively stopped for a period during which a microinstruction is fetched and the signal Cm is produced. In such a constitution, a prescribed microinstruction can be repetitively carried out at a high speed without increasing the memory capacity of the CS.
