Drive arrangement for the gripper arm of a tool-change device on machine tools, in particular machining centres. The gripper arm is accommodated on a shaft in a rotationally locked and axially displaceable manner and is connected to a double-acting piston arranged in the shaft. The shaft can be set in rotation by a double-acting working cylinder via a rack-and-pinion drive. The passages starting from the pressure spaces on both sides of the piston lead out axially symmetrically at the surface of the shaft. They are connected to two spatially fixed lines which, via a valve which can be reversed by the piston in its reversal positions, are connected to two lines leading to the pressure spaces of the working cylinder. The admission of pressure to one piston side automatically leads to the lifting, swivelling and retraction of the gripper arm.
