The transport apparatus (9) for the feed of the stacked textile web (2) is subdivided into individual portions (14, 15, 11) which can be driven at different speeds. A decreasing feed speed is preferably selected, from the actual stack-depositing point (7), until the dwell region (11) is reached. A uniform stack build-up is thereby achieved. <IMAGE>
