PURPOSE:To obtain an optical sensor suitable to small-space equipment while reducing its wiring by forming connection terminals on both ends of a circuit formed by connecting a light emitting element in series with to a parallel circuit of a light receiving element which turns on and off with light and a resistance. CONSTITUTION:Both terminals of the circuit formed by connecting the light emitting element in series with the parallel circuit of the light emitting element which turns on and off with light and the resistance are used as the connection terminals. For example, both ends of the circuit formed by connecting the light emitting element 4 in series with the parallel circuit of the light receiving element (switch) 11 and resistance RE are used as the connection terminals 121 and 122. When the switch 1 is turned off, a current flows in a route (a) and the current IOUT(OFF) at this time is shown by an equation (1) and when the switch 11 is off, on the other hand, a current flows in a route (b) and the current IOUT(ON) at this time is shown by an equation (2). Thus, the wiring can be reduced.
