Process and device for separating an emulsion in an electric field

Process for separating an emulsion, characterised by atomising the emulsion to form minute droplets, the diameter of which is equal to or smaller than the diameter of the droplets of the dispersed phase of the emulsion, passing the droplets through an electric field and separating the two phases of the emulsion by utilising the different influencing of the trajectory of the droplets caused by the electric field, and a device for carrying out this process.
