PURPOSE:To detect the opposite polarity of another communication control equipment mounted on a transmission medium and to reporting it by providing a polarity decision part. CONSTITUTION:A conventional communication control equipment is provided with a polarity deciding means. Namely, when the start bit of one character is a negative-polarity pulse, a rectangular wave signal is outputted at the fall of the start bit. For the purpose, a control part 2 monitors the output of the polarity decision part 6 to detect the opposite polarity on the transmission medium. Further, when the opposite polarity on the transmission medium is detected, the control part 2 sends a command to an information part 7 to detect polarity abnormality. Further, the polarity on the transmission medium is decided with a polarity decision command from a terminal 8 to inform the terminal of the decision result.
